Go See It Rock Shop - A Success

Tiger Den 12 had a great time at the Rock shop.   They loved the fossils, huge variety of rocks and minerals as well as the different displays.  The cubs saw Igneous rocks formed from Valcanoes, Sedimentary rock formed in layers, i.e. sandstone, and metamorphic rock like the California state rock Serpentine.   We discussed the difference between rocks and minerals.  We also discussed how fossils formed.  and at the end of the visit, we had cookies and juice or milk, thanks to the Duggans.

The cubs learned everything they needed to earn their geology belt loop and saw a wonderful collection of rocks, which gave them one of the requirements for their collection belt loop.   And the Den Leader neglected to take any pictures -  What was he thinking.  If any of the Moms or Dads took any pictures, please send them to me or post them on the Den 12 photo Album
